Flour City Falls to Chubbies in Championship

Flour City's bid for a perfect season ended in disappointment as they fell 2-1 to Roc Chubbies in the IAHL Monday Novice championship game.

The Chubbies put two on the board in the first period to take the early lead. Flour City found the net in the second when Doug Keller stuffed in a rebound off a shot by Shane Bertou.

As the game intensity increased, Flour City unraveled -  racking up 22 penalty minutes in the final 20 minutes of play. Uncharacteristic for a team that managed only half as many PIMs throughout the entire season. Flour City had only seven players on the ice for the final nine minutes of play, which proved to be too much to overcome.
